King of Swords, The Magician, The Moon

Hello, friend. Thank you for joining me today at my kitchen table. I wish you peace, clarity, and joy. If this resonates, I hope you find my assessment helpful. If not, no worries! I’m still glad you stopped by. Remember, this is general; “if it fits, I sits” is a helpful adage. Don’t force it!

I began today’s shuffle with a more narrowed focus. I’ve been asking for whatever general message spirit would like me to impart, but that can still cast a very wide net. So for the first card we are looking at an individual—it could be you or someone you  are dealing with—and in the second, their energy and focus at this time, concluded in the third with a look at how that’s going.

The King of Swords is someone who uses his intellectual prowess and experience to inhabit his power. He is stoic, and has worked hard to cultivate his strength and dominance over emotional issues. He is a calm warrior who keeps his passions under wraps so as not to detract from his honor, or his reputation for being a cool cat totally in control of his feelings. Having achieved this, sitting at the top of the Swords arc, he is considering his next move. He wants to create and manifest, but might be apprehensive about taking the reins on the kind of power possessed by the Magician—defensive, even, as one with a sword may have reason to be. I sense that willpower is an issue—not that the King of Swords has none, but there’s a reluctance to fully trust in it. The Magician is a power of autonomy, and some people are afraid to allow themselves access—like being afraid to race a NASCAR car because all they know is driving around neighborhoods full of children and never being on the road with another car. This fear is understandable! NASCAR driving requires practice and discipline, and it takes a lot of care to drive that recklessly. The cars are built differently and serve different purposes. There are different responsibilities. The neighborhood driver knows that even though they’re piloting a minivan, it still has the potential to injure or kill. They are cautious about speed and surroundings and are observant of the fragile human lives around them. Magician energy exists somewhere “above” that—they’re more concerned with dealing with like-powered energies. The King of Swords is a looking out for my clan energy, wielding the only weapon in the deck. The Magician is Masters of the Universe at work energy. No weapon forged against them shall prosper, etc., etc. The King of Swords, despite his kingliness and control of emotion, doubts if he can be trusted with such enormity—despite being trustworthy to a fault with his bloodless sword. The result of this chasm between desire/goal and current emotional reality is confusion. Moonlight can look bright and strong, but it doesn’t illuminate nearly as much as the wide cast of the sun. In moonlight, things can remain hidden or appear sinister. It’s easy to imagine you saw something that wasn’t really there, but also easy to overlook something secret, some unexamined trauma lodged in the King of Swords’ subconscious. To move fully into the mode of the Magician—free to create and manifest their goals without giving a damn about their reputation—the King needs more work slicing through the illusory limitations he may have put upon his own self. Note also that “[not] giving a damn about [one’s] reputation” is not a combative pass to be a jerk and eschew kindness! It is the confidence to follow your path without being scared away by unsupportive, visionless peers. Feedback is one thing, but you don’t have to politely tolerate people who belittle what you do, what you enjoy, what you aim for, or who you are.

Thank you for being here. Regardless of whether this resonated for you, I want you to know that you are precious and loved. The people around you should support your dreams, not shoot you down. Go with love and peace, and remember, you are always welcome at my kitchen table. -KTT 🌻💛

P.S.: if you like soothing, gently repetitive cello music with healing frequencies, please check out Jesse Ahmann — Montana Cellist on YouTube. I can’t attest to how everyone will respond to solfeggio tones, but I have found this music calms my heart and helps me concentrate. If it’s your kind of thing, I hope you enjoy 🙏
