The Lightseer deck was definitely talking today! And it wanted to talk about how hard you are working, and the rewards that will pour forth from that labor. In this spread, within the context of these cards, the 7 of Pentacles shows the unseen effects of your work. The plant may look small, but its caretaker is gazing at it with gratitude and love. The root system below is vast, two to three times as large, sprouting from the seeds invested in the soil. What you have set in motion may at times feel underwhelming, but what you can’t see will surprise you soon with its depth and reach. Whatever it is you do for a living—or perhaps the side hustle you feel much more passionate about than your day job—it is obvious that you have put your heart and soul into it. This can feel risky at times; a lack of tangible growth may have you doubting your abilities, talent, and potential. When you’ve put every last ounce of your energy and effort into your passions, small returns may feel discouraging and turn you into your own biggest naysayer. This card is here to reflect and acknowledge the perseverance it has taken for any and all growth to occur, and to assure you that you are on the right path, because it is followed by the 9 of Pentacles.

What you are currently unable to perceive will soon soar far above your hopes and expectations, so don’t be afraid to dream big! There may be many who do what you do—there’s no shortage of visual artists, writers, storytellers, musicians, and other creatives—but none who are exactly like you or can bring your unique perspective to the table. When you embrace your individuality and independent spirit, you rise above the idea of competition. The other creative souls around you are your community, and when you nurture those people in the trenches alongside you, everybody grows. Of course, not all may share that benevolent mindset, so use caution—but when you are sincere, honest, and generous, those gifts will flow back into the soil where you plant your seeds and nourish countless blooms to come.
